Cheeseburger French Fry Bake

Prep time: 10 mins | Cook time: 25–30 mins | Servings: 4–6

Ingredients

  • The Base: 1 bag (28–32 oz) frozen French fries (crinkle-cut or straight).
  • The Protein: 1 lb ground beef.
  • The Aromatics: 1 small yellow onion (diced) and 2 cloves garlic (minced).
  • The Sauce:
    • 1/4 cup ketchup.
    • 1 tbsp yellow mustard.
    • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce.
  • The Cheese: 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or a pre-made cheese sauce for extra creaminess.
  • Garnish: Fresh chopped parsley, diced tomatoes, or bacon bits.

Instructions

  1. Crisp the Fries: Bake the frozen French fries according to the package directions until they are golden and crispy. This ensures they don’t get soggy under the toppings.
  2. Brown the Beef: While the fries bake, brown the ground beef with the diced onions in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Season: Stir in the garlic, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the flavors are well combined.
  4. Layer: Place the crispy fries in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Spread the seasoned beef mixture evenly over the top.
  5. Melt the Cheese: Generously cover the beef and fries with shredded cheese or a thick cheese sauce drizzle.
  6. Bake: Return to the oven at 400°F for 5–10 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley or extra burger toppings like pickles and tomatoes.
