Prep time: 15 mins | Cook time: 20 mins | Servings: 4–6
Ingredients
- The “Bomb” Core: 1 lb ground beef.
- The Gooey Center: 4 oz sharp Cheddar cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes.
- The Wrap: 1 lb thick-cut bacon.
- The Glaze: 1/2 cup of your favorite smoky BBQ sauce.
- Seasoning:
- 1 tsp garlic powder.
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika.
- Salt and black pepper to taste.
- Garnish: Freshly chopped parsley or chives.
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
- Season the Meat: In a bowl, mix the ground beef with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff: Take a small handful of beef and flatten it. Place a cube of cheddar in the center and roll the meat around it to form a tightly sealed ball.
- Wrap: Wrap each beef ball with 1–2 slices of bacon, securing the ends with a toothpick if necessary.
- Initial Bake: Place the “bombs” on the wire rack and bake for 15 minutes until the bacon begins to crisp.
- Glaze: Remove from the oven and brush each ball generously with BBQ sauce.
- Final Blast: Return to the oven for another 5 minutes until the glaze is sticky and the bacon is perfectly crispy.
- Serve: Let them rest for a few minutes so the cheese doesn’t escape too fast. Garnish with fresh herbs.
