The Dough
- 100g butter (softened)
- 230g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 egg + 1 yolk
The Filling & Topping
- 250g cottage cheese
- 4 tbsp sour cream
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 egg + 1 egg white
- 4 tbsp sugar
- Vanillin (to taste)
- Fresh strawberries (as seen in image_9cb74d.png)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
Combine all the dough ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix until a cohesive dough forms. Grease your tart or cake pan with butter, then spread the dough evenly across the bottom and up the sides. Place the pan in the refrigerator to chill while you prepare the filling.
Step 2: Prepare the Filling
Whisk together the cottage cheese, sour cream, cornstarch, egg, egg white, sugar, and vanillin until smooth and well combined.
Step 3: Assemble and Bake
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the cottage cheese mixture over the chilled dough base. Arrange your fresh strawberries on top, pressing them slightly into the cream. Bake for approximately 35–45 minutes, or until the filling is set and the edges of the dough are golden brown.
Step 4: Cool
Allow the tart to cool completely before serving so the filling can firm up perfectly, giving you those clean slices shown in image_9cb74d.png.
