Ingredients
Fudgy Brownies
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
Decor & Frosting
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for melting and spreading on top)
- Green piping icing (or white frosting tinted green)
- Colorful round candies or sprinkles (for tree ornaments)
- Star-shaped sprinkles or candy stars (for the tree topper)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mix the Batter: Whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add Dry Ingredients: Fold in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder just until combined.
- Bake: Spread the batter into your prepared pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Let the brownies cool completely before lifting them out of the pan.
- Ice the Top: Spread a smooth layer of melted chocolate across the top of the cooled brownie slab and let it set.
- The Viral Triangle Hack: Cut the brownie square diagonally into rows, then cut zig-zag diagonals to form neat triangles (Christmas trees).
- Decorate Your Trees: Pipe zig-zag lines of green icing across each triangle to look like garlands, press colorful candies onto the frosting as ornaments, and place a star on top of each tree!
