- 400–500 g smoked sausage (sliced into rounds)
- 4–5 medium potatoes (peeled & cubed)
- 1 large onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup cabbage or sauerkraut (optional but very good)
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp dried thyme or parsley
- Salt to taste
- ½ cup water or chicken broth
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
🔪 Instructions
1️⃣ Brown the Sausage
- Heat oil/butter in a large skillet over medium-high
- Add sausage slices
- Cook until golden and slightly crispy
- Remove and set aside
2️⃣ Cook the Potatoes
- In the same pan, add potatoes
- Season with salt, pepper, paprika
- Cook 6–8 minutes, stirring, until lightly browned
3️⃣ Add Onion & Garlic
- Add onion and garlic
- Cook 2–3 minutes until soft and fragrant
4️⃣ Combine & Simmer
- Add cabbage/sauerkraut (if using)
- Return sausage to the pan
- Pour in water or broth
- Cover and cook 10–12 minutes until potatoes are tender
5️⃣ Finish
- Remove lid and let excess liquid reduce
- Sprinkle dried herbs
- Taste and adjust seasoning
