  • 400–500 g smoked sausage (sliced into rounds)
  • 4–5 medium potatoes (peeled & cubed)
  • 1 large onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup cabbage or sauerkraut (optional but very good)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp dried thyme or parsley
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ cup water or chicken broth
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

🔪 Instructions

1️⃣ Brown the Sausage

  • Heat oil/butter in a large skillet over medium-high
  • Add sausage slices
  • Cook until golden and slightly crispy
  • Remove and set aside

2️⃣ Cook the Potatoes

  • In the same pan, add potatoes
  • Season with salt, pepper, paprika
  • Cook 6–8 minutes, stirring, until lightly browned

3️⃣ Add Onion & Garlic

4️⃣ Combine & Simmer

  • Add cabbage/sauerkraut (if using)
  • Return sausage to the pan
  • Pour in water or broth
  • Cover and cook 10–12 minutes until potatoes are tender

5️⃣ Finish

  • Remove lid and let excess liquid reduce
  • Sprinkle dried herbs
  • Taste and adjust seasoning
