Prep time: 10 mins | Bake time: 20–25 mins | Servings: 6
Ingredients
- The Main Components:
- 1.5 lbs cooked ham, cut into 1-inch cubes.
- 1 can (20 oz) pineapple chunks, drained (reserve 2 tbsp of the juice).
- The Sticky Glaze:
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar.
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional, for a savory kick).
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon.
- Reserved pineapple juice.
- The Finish:
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted.
- Fresh parsley or maraschino cherries for garnish (optional).
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat your oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a medium-sized baking dish.
- Combine: Place the diced ham and pineapple chunks into the baking dish, tossing them together until they are evenly distributed.
- Whisk the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, mustard, cinnamon, melted butter, and the reserved pineapple juice until smooth.
- Coat: Pour the brown sugar mixture over the ham and pineapple. Stir gently to ensure every piece is coated in the glaze.
- Bake: Place in the oven for 20–25 minutes. For extra caramelization, stir the mixture halfway through the cooking time.
- Broil (Optional): If you prefer a darker, stickier finish, turn the broiler on for the last 2–3 minutes until the edges of the ham and pineapple are slightly charred and bubbling.
- Serve: Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving so the glaze can thicken slightly.
