Ingredients
- The Cheesecake Layer:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened.
- ½ cup granulated sugar.
- 1 tsp vanilla extract.
- The Fruit & Cake Base:
- 21 oz strawberry pie filling (or fresh strawberries in syrup).
- 1 box yellow or white cake mix.
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted or thinly sliced.
- The Garnish:
- Whipped cream.
- Fresh strawberries and mint.
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Layer Fruit: Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the prepared dish.
- Mix Cheesecake: In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Dollop: Drop spoonfuls of the cheesecake mixture over the strawberry layer.
- Add Cake Mix: Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top of the fruit and cheesecake layers.
- Butter Topping: Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, ensuring as much of the dry mix is covered as possible to create a golden crust.
- Bake: Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the fruit is bubbling and the top is golden brown.
- Serve: Let the cake cool slightly. Serve warm topped with a generous swirl of whipped cream and a fresh strawberry.
