Ingredients

Noodles

  • 8 oz Lo Mein Noodles
  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tsp Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Ginger Powder

Beef & Broccoli

  • 1 lb Flank Steak, thinly sliced
  • 3 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp Shaoxing Wine
  • 1/2 tsp White Pepper
  • 2 Heads Broccoli, cut into florets
  • 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 3 Cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup Beef Broth
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep the Noodles: Cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions until tender. Drain and toss immediately with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, garlic powder, and ginger powder. Set aside.
  2. Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced flank steak with 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, cornstarch, Shaoxing wine, and white pepper. Toss well to coat every piece evenly and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  3. Sear the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef in a single layer and sear until nicely browned and cooked through, about 3 to 4 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
  4. Cook the Broccoli: Add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil to the same skillet. Toss in the broccoli florets and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until bright green. Pour in the beef broth, cover with a lid for 2 minutes to steam the broccoli until crisp-tender, then remove the lid.
  5. Aromatics: Push the broccoli to the side of the pan. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger directly into the center, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Combine and Serve: Return the cooked beef and seasoned noodles to the skillet. Toss everything together vigorously over medium heat until all the ingredients are hot and thoroughly coated in the savory sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve immediately!
