Ingredients
- The Base: 1 lb cooked chicken (shredded or cubed; rotisserie works great).
- The Topping: 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots and 6–8 slices of cooked, crumbled bacon.
- The Sauce:
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup.
- 1 cup sour cream.
- 1 packet (1 oz) dry Ranch seasoning mix.
- 1/2 cup milk.
- The Cheese: 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided).
- Garnish: Fresh parsley or sliced green onions.
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat your oven to 400°F and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Mix: In a large bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, ranch seasoning, and milk until smooth.
- Combine: Fold in the cooked chicken, half of the crumbled bacon, and 1 cup of the cheddar cheese.
- Layer: Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Assemble: Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the top of the chicken mixture.
- Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 30–35 minutes until the tots are golden and crispy.
- Melt: Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheese and the rest of the bacon over the tots. Bake for another 5 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and melted.
- Serve: Let it sit for 5 minutes before garnishing and serving.
