Ingredients
- The Protein: 1 lb ground beef.
- The Noodles: 8–10 oz lo mein noodles, spaghetti, or hokkien noodles.
- The Veggies: * 1 cup carrots, sliced into bite-sized chunks.
- 1/2 cup celery, chopped.
- 1/4 cup green onions, sliced (for cooking and garnish).
- The Lo Mein Sauce:
- 3 tbsp soy sauce.
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce.
- 1 tsp sesame oil.
- 1 tsp brown sugar.
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger and minced garlic.
Instructions
- Boil: Cook the noodles according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Brown: In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- Sauté: Add the carrots and celery to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 3–5 minutes until the vegetables begin to soften but still retain a slight crunch.
- Toss: Add the cooked noodles and the sliced green onions to the skillet.
- Sauce: Whisk the sauce ingredients together and pour over the beef and noodle mixture. Toss everything together over the heat for 2 minutes until the noodles are well-coated and the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Serve: Transfer to a large white serving dish and serve immediately while hot.
