Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Beef Brisket

Prep time: 15 mins | Cook time: 8–10 hours (Low) | Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • The Beef: 3–4 lb beef brisket (trimmed of excess fat)
  • The Rub: 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp smoked paprika, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • The Sauce:
    • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
    • 1/2 cup honey
    • 1/4 cup beef broth
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
    • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (optional)
  • Garnish: Fresh chopped parsley or green onions.

Instructions

  1. Sear the Meat: (Optional but recommended) Pat the brisket dry and season with the dry rub. Sear in a large skillet over high heat for 3–4 minutes per side until a crust forms.
  2. Slow Cook: Place the brisket in the slow cooker. In a small bowl, whisk together all the sauce ingredients and pour it over the meat.
  3. Low and Slow: Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours. Brisket is a tough cut, so “low and slow” is essential for that melt-in-your-mouth texture.
  4. The Glaze: Once cooked, remove the brisket to a cutting board. Pour the liquid from the slow cooker into a saucepan and simmer over medium-high heat for 10–15 minutes until it reduces into a thick, sticky glaze.
  5. Serve: Slice the brisket against the grain (this is crucial for tenderness!). Arrange the slices back in the slow cooker or on a platter, drizzle generously with the reduced glaze, and top with fresh parsley.
