  • The Grains: 2 cups cooked white rice.
  • The Aromatics: 1 small yellow onion (diced) and 2 cloves garlic (minced).
  • The Sauce:
    • 1/2 cup ketchup.
    • 1 tbsp yellow mustard.
    • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce.
    • 1/4 cup beef broth (to keep it moist).
  • The Cheese: 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese.
  • Garnish: Sliced pickles or fresh parsley.

Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef: In a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onions until the meat is no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Add Aromatics: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  4. Add Cheese: Fold in 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese until it starts to melt and bind the mixture together.
  5. Melt and Crisp: Top the skillet with the remaining 1 cup of cheese and the rest of the bacon crumbles.
    • Stovetop method: Cover with a lid for 2–3 minutes until the cheese is melted.
    • Oven method: Place under the broiler for 2–3 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  6. Serve: Garnish with pickles or parsley and serve directly from the skillet.
