Ingredients

  • The “Magic” Crust:
    • 1 cup Bisquick original baking mix.
    • 1 cup whole milk.
    • 2 large eggs.
  • The Filling:
    • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage, browned and drained.
    • 1/2 cup chopped onion.
    • 1/2 tsp garlic powder and 1 tsp Italian seasoning.
  • The Toppings:
    • 1/2 cup pizza sauce.
    • 1.5 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese.
    • Optional: Sliced pepperoni or bell peppers.
  • Garnish: Freshly chopped parsley or chives.

Instructions

  1. Prep: Preheat your oven to 400°F. Grease a 9-inch pie plate or baking dish.
  2. Brown: In a skillet, cook the ground beef (or sausage) and onion until the meat is browned; drain off the excess fat.
  3. Layer Meat: Spread the cooked meat mixture evenly in the bottom of the greased pie plate and sprinkle with seasonings.
  4. Mix Batter: In a bowl, whisk together the Bisquick mix, milk, and eggs until smooth. Pour this batter over the meat.
  5. Initial Bake: Bake for 20 minutes.
  6. Add Pizza Toppings: Remove from the oven. Spread the pizza sauce over the top, then sprinkle generously with cheese and your favorite toppings like pepperoni.
  7. Final Melt: Bake for an additional 5–10 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and golden.
  8. Finish: Let it stand for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh herbs.
