Taco Stuffed Shells

Prep time: 20 mins | Cook time: 20–25 mins | Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • The Shells: 1 box (12 oz) jumbo pasta shells.
  • The Filling: * 1 lb ground beef.
    • 1 packet taco seasoning.
    • 4 oz cream cheese, softened (makes the filling extra creamy).
  • The Sauce & Cheese:
    • 1 cup chunky salsa or taco sauce.
    • 2 cups shredded Mexican-blend or Cheddar cheese.
  • Toppings (Optional): Sour cream, green onions, and crushed tortilla chips.

Instructions

  1. Boil: Cook the jumbo shells in boiling salted water until al dente. Drain and set them aside on a baking sheet to prevent sticking.
  2. Sauté: Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain the grease, then stir in the taco seasoning and cream cheese until the mixture is smooth and combined.
  3. Prep Dish: Pour a thin layer of salsa or taco sauce into the bottom of a 9×13 inch glass baking dish.
  4. Stuff: Use a spoon to generously fill each cooked shell with the beef mixture. Arrange the stuffed shells in rows inside the baking dish.
  5. Top: Pour the remaining sauce over the center of the shells and sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly across the top.
  6. Bake: Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 5–10 minutes until the cheese is completely melted and bubbling.
  7. Serve: Garnish with your favorite taco toppings and serve hot.
